About Me
Caroline Murphy
I come from a big family in Cork and have been living in Meath for nearly ten years. I originally completed a degree in Business Studies, before qualifying as a primary school teacher and working in schools both in Ireland and abroad. A lot of my earlier work focused on environmental education, something I remain passionate about.
Over time, my interest in children’s emotional wellbeing grew deeper, and I went on to train for four years as a child and adolescent psychotherapist. I’m now fully accredited and specialise in play therapy, which combines my love of working with children with a deep respect for their inner world and emotional needs. My therapeutic approach is child-centred, creative, and relationship-focused, with an emphasis on creating safety, building trust, and supporting children at their own pace.
I have worked as a play therapist in a family resource centre, supporting children and families through a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges. I also have experience working in Ballymun, providing play therapy to children with high levels of trauma and complex needs—work that has deepened my understanding of the healing power of play, safety, and connection.

At present, I am combining my experience in schools with my play therapy skills by working one-to-one with children in school settings, addressing social and emotional difficulties that may hinder academic progress. I also provide one-to-one parent consultations and co- facilitate playful parenting workshops to support parents and caregivers in building strong, connected relationships with their children.
As a parent of two young children, I appreciate both the profound importance and the very real challenges of raising a family. I believe parenting is one of the most rewarding roles we will ever take on, yet also one of the most demanding—and it’s a role we’re rarely given any formal training or guidance for.
That’s why I’m passionate not only about working directly with children, but also about supporting the people who care for them. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, with a focus on helping families feel more connected and supported.
